Baker Hughes has been awarded a “major” contract to provide a modularized LNG system and power island to support Venture Global LNG projects in the US, the firm said on Thursday.
In addition, Baker Hughes signed a multi-year services frame agreement, including maintenance, inspection, repairs, and engineering services, to support phases 1 and 2 of Venture Global’s Plaquemines LNG project in Louisiana.
Baker Hughes said the equipment order and services agreement were secured in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The firm did not provide the pricing details.
Baker Hughes has already provided comprehensive LNG solutions to Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines LNG facilities.
Back in September 2023, Venture Global signed a deal with Baker Hughes to increase its production capacity from 70 million tonnes per annum to more than 100 mtpa.
The two firms executed an expanded master equipment supply agreement.
After that, Baker Hughes secured a contract to provide a modularized LNG system and power island in October of the same year.
Last month, Venture Global LNG received approval from the US FERC to export the first commissioning cargo from its Plaquemines LNG plant.
The approval came just a week after Venture Global started producing LNG at the company’s second facility.
With this, Plaquemines LNG became the eighth US LNG export facility.
In the meantime, the company has already delivered three Plaquemines LNG commissioning cargoes to Germany.
While working on the Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines projects, Venture Global also filed for its IPO last month and started trading on the NYSE.
The company plans to boost its export capacity to 104.4 mtpa via five projects by 2034.
