US weekly LNG exports reach 25 cargoes

The agency said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, the total capacity of these 25 LNG vessels is 94 Bcf.

This compares to 26 shipments and 98 Bcf in the week ending August 28.

Average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals increased 0.4 Bcf/d from last week to 13.1 Bcf/d, according to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana increased by 2.8 percent (0.2 Bcf/d) to 8 Bcf/d, while natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas increased 2.6 percent (0.1 Bcf/d) to 4.1 Bcf/d.

Natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast were essentially unchanged, the agency said.

During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped nine LNG cargoes and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent four shipments.

The Freeport LNG terminal shipped five cargoes, while Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal and Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass facility each shipped three cargoes during the week under review.

The Cove Point facility also sent one cargo, and the Elba Island terminal did not ship cargoes.

This report week, the Henry Hub spot price rose 17 cents from $1.89 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $2.06/MMBtu this Wednesday.

The agency said the price of the October 2024 NYMEX contract increased 4.8 cents, from $2.097/MMBtu last Wednesday to $2.145/MMBtu this Wednesday.

The price of the 12-month strip averaging October 2024 through September 2025 futures contracts increased 8.2 cents to $2.934/MMBtu.

The agency said that international natural gas futures were mixed this report week.

Bloomberg Finance reported that weekly average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia increased 3 cents to a weekly average of $13.93/MMBtu.

Natural gas futures for delivery at the Dutch TTF decreased 4 cents to a weekly average of $12.28/MMBtu.

In the same week last year (week ending September 6, 2023), the prices were $13.26/MMBtu in East Asia and $10.75/MMBtu at TTF, the agency said.
