Green Era Shipping orders dozen bulkers from China

Chinese shipbuilder Fujian Lixin Ship Engineering has signed a contract with Istanbul-based Green Era Shipping for the construction of 12 bulk carriers.

The contract, signed during the China Maritime Equipment Expo 2024, consists of orders for six 4,300 dwt and six 5,300 dwt bulkers. Financial details of the deal were not revealed.

Lixin Ship was established in 1981 and specializes in the construction and repair of steel ships.

According to available data, all shipyards in Fujian exported 159 vessels by October 31. This is an increase of 34.7% when compared to 2023. The total value of the exported ships stands at around $1.47bn, a massive 77.3% increase when compared to last year.
