Iberdrola, through its subsidiary Ailes Marines, has announced the completion of the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm, making it the second operational offshore wind farm in France and the first in Brittany.

With all 62 wind turbines now operational, the project boasts a total capacity of 496MW, contributing to France’s renewable energy goals.

As of 28th May, the wind farm’s 8MW turbines, the most powerful ever installed in France, are fully integrated into the national electricity grid, managed by RTE.

Situated off the coast of Brittany, the park’s annual production of approximately 1,820GWh accounts for 9% of Brittany’s total electricity consumption.

The Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm represents an investment of €2.4 billion (£2bn), entirely financed by Iberdrola.
