Multiple brokers are reporting China’s Kawa Shipping has ordered its first newbuilds, signing for three 4,800 teu ships at Wuhu Shipyard.

Alphaliner has put a price tag of $60m per ship with the dual-fuel LNG vessels due for delivery in 2027.

The emerging new Chinese owner, whose fleet currently stands at four ships ranging in size from 1,600 to 2,400 teu, has been making headlines recently most notably for a new standalone serve it has launched from China to Germany.
