Dutch owner Pot Scheepvaart has returned to fellow shipyard Royal Bodewes with an order for an additional 6,340 dwt multipurpose (MPP) newbuild.

The new contract, which follows another unit booked for construction in March last year, will see the vessel delivered in 2027.

The Delfzijl-based company currently has 12 general cargo vessels ranging between 4,500 dwt and 12,000 dwt.

The first of the two newbuilds will boost Pot Scheepvaart’s fleet this year. The Ice Class 1A vessel, upgraded from its initially planned 6,000 dwt design, will be fit to carry a wide range of materials, including general cargo, timber, paper, wood pulp, and bulk goods like coal and grain.
