CMB.TECH has revealed in its financial results that its chemical tanker arm Bochem has secured a long-term charter for one of its newbuilds.

The 26,000 dwt chemical tanker, set to be delivered in October 2025, was hired by Chilean operator Ultratank on a long-term, seven-year charter.

According to the Alexander Saverys-led company, the vessel will be under hire immediately upon delivery from the shipyard.

The vessel is being built at the China Merchants Jinling Dingheng Shipyard with another sister vessel also being set for delivery around the same time.

Bochem currently has six chemical tankers on the water and is waiting for the delivery of two chemical and two product tankers in 2025 and 2026, respectively.

CMB.TECH reported a profit of $98.1m in the third quarter of 2024, down from the $114.6m profit in the same period last year, and a year-to-date profit of $777.7m.
